Island Roads launches its annual customer survey today (Monday 3rd February) and is encouraging residents to feedback on the range of services it provides, as part of its work to improve the highway network on the Island.
The survey is part of a range of measures that the company uses to review the services it provides and helps the company to determine how it can improve its performance year-on- year.
The survey includes 12 short questions covering aspects of its work from road surfacing and maintenance to street cleansing, verge and grass cutting together with our customer services operations.
Since the company started its highway improvement programme in April 2013, a significant volume of the roads, pavements, structures, street furniture (benches, signs etc) across the Island have been upgraded, new streetlighting installed and improvements made to other highway services. However, the company is keen to continue its regular dialogue with the public to help it understand where improvements can still be made.
Stephen Ashman, Island Roads service director, said: “As an organisation we are committed to delivering our work to the highest standards not just in terms of our contractual obligations but also to the satisfaction of the local community.
“We are very grateful for the number of compliments that we receive on individual aspects of our work each month, but this survey allows us to gauge people’s views across wider aspects of our service, so we can determine where we might need to make further improvements.”
Residents have until Friday 28 February 2020 to complete the survey which can be completed online via our website here or using paper copies of the survey – available from Island Roads Daish Way offices in Newport, County Hall reception, IW College and libraries across the Island.
The Island’s Highway Improvement Programme is financed in the main through a grant of £477 million awarded by the Department for Transport and delivered in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council.
