Blind or partially sighted users

If you are blind or partially sighted, there are several ways you can adjust your device or browser to make this website easier to use. We have also designed our site to be as accessible as possible.

Changing the text size in your browser

You can change the text size in your browser to make the text more visible.

All modern browsers (Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

Keyboard

Zoom in: Press Ctrl and +

Zoom out: Press Ctrl and –

Reset: Press Ctrl and 0

You can also adjust text size and display settings in your device’s accessibility settings.

Reading content aloud

Microsoft Edge includes a “Read Aloud” feature that can read page text.

– Right-click on a page and select Read Aloud (this may be found under “More tools” in some versions)

– Or press Ctrl + Shift + U

Please note: Read Aloud reads visible text on the page. It may not describe elements such as buttons, links or form fields. For a more complete experience, we recommend using a screen reader such as Narrator.

Third-party tools

There are also free and paid tools that can help, such as:

– Text-to-speech applications

– Browser extensions for accessibility

Please note: we do not provide support for third-party software. For help, contact the software provider directly.

Large print forms and letters

If you require any of our forms or letters in large print (font size 14–16) or giant print (above font size 16), please contact our helpdesk on 01983 822440 and we will be happy to help.
