Nightworks to improve highway at Binstead

Another section of the main road at Binstead is due to be upgraded shortly

The work on Binstead Hill and Binstead Road will be undertaken at night by Island Roads in order to minimise disruption.

To further reduce inconvenience, the project will be undertaken in two phases, from Arnold Roadto Cemetery Road and Cemetery Road to Ringwood Road. It is anticipated  the work will take five nights to complete and will begin on July 11

While work takes place, between the hours of 7.30pm and 6am, the road will be closed although pedestrian access will remain.

Island Roads does not envisage work taking place over the weekend.

Project manager Derek Benfield said: “Obviously this is a busy section of road but we hope that by working overnight and in sections we will keep inconvenience to a minimum.

“We thank residents in advance for their understanding and hope any short-term disruption will be offset by the long-term benefit of having this busy stretch improved.”
