Temporary speed reduction in force on Medina Way

A temporary speed reduction is in force on the Cowes-bound section of the Medina Way dual carriageway at Newport.

The new 40-mile-an-hour limit was brought into force last night following damage to a safety barrier. The barrier remains in place but has been deemed no longer sufficient to restrain vehicles travelling at the national speed limit.

The new speed restriction will remain in force until remedial work is carried out.

The speed limits on the southbound section of the dual carriageway (the approach to Coppins Bridge) remain unaffected.
