Traffic arrangements for Yarmouth Gaffers Festival

A number of temporary traffic arrangements will be in place to help ensure that Old Gaffers Festival runs safely and smoothy:

 

  • St James Square / Market Square / Pier Street / Quay Street, Yarmouth will be closed between St James Street and The Quay. This will be in place from 6am on Friday 30 May 2014 until 6.30pm on Sunday 1 June 2014.
  • A temporary Clearway Order will be in operation in the interests of road safety and to assist with the free flow of traffic in Thorley Road / from Bouldnor Road to Thorley Street and in Bridge Road / Halletts Shute, Yarmouth between Yar Bridge and the junction of Westhill, Lane between Friday 30 May and Sunday 1 June 2014.
  • Bridge Road (south east side from a point 30 metres to 60 metres to the south west of River Road Roundabout) where there is normally parking.
  • A temporary taxi rank will be in operation from 6am on Friday 30 May until 6.30pm on Sunday 1 June 2014 for the Old Gaffers Festival.

First phase of work on the King Charles Coastal Path @ Military Road, is now complete and work is underway on the next phase southeast of Brighstone Viaduct.
The road will be open for the bank holiday (possibly under lights) from this evening till 7.30am Tuesday @iow_council
