Yarmouth Bridge will go through its annual servicing work next month.
Island Roads will be undertaking various work to keep the structure safe and reliable between March 16 and 27, 2026.
The road will be open to pedestrians (and cyclists who are asked to dismount) throughout the work, subject to some potential minor delays, but will need to be closed to traffic for up to three days, March 17, 18 and 19 between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Mariners are also advised that it is best to avoid trying to navigate the bridge during this time but if travel is essential then they should contact the harbour master as far in advance as possible and Island Roads will seek to accommodate journeys.
While the bridge is closed to traffic, the usual diversion via Thorley Road, Wilmingham Lane and the Middle Road, will be in place.
An Island Roads spokesperson said: “This work is carried out annually as part of a planned programme to ensure the bridge is maintained in good, reliable working order.
“We apologise in advance for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their understanding.”
