Island Roads will be visiting Bembridge next week to explain more about the forthcoming drainage and resurfacing scheme for Steyne Road.
The event will be at Bembridge Community Centre on Tuesday August 30 between 1.30pm and 3.00pm. It follows the postponement of a planned session at Lane End shops and Bembridge Community Centre earlier in the month following issues with Island Roads’ mobile visitor centre.
Scheme engineer Jason Boulter said: “Given that this is a major drainage and resurfacing scheme, there will inevitably be some impact on the Bembridge community so we are keen that residents are given every opportunity to hear more about the plans.
“We are really grateful to Bembridge Parish Council for their understanding and assistance in planning this rescheduled event.
“The drainage and resurfacing scheme will bring significant benefits to the village on completion and we look forward to discussing the project on Tuesday.”
Leaflets have been circulated to local residents and posters made available to the parish council to help raise awareness of the event.
