A section of the Newport to Cowes cycle track will be subject to a limited closure from Monday next week (Oct 26).
The closure of the section between Manners View and Dodnor Lane is for urgent works relating to a defective culvert along this stretch of cycle track.
To limit disruption, work will take place outside commuting times, meaning the closure will be between 9am and 4pm on weekdays. The track will be fully reopened at weekends.
It is anticipated the closure will be in place for two weeks. The short diversion route is via Dodnor Lane, Daish Way and Manners View.
An Isle of Wight Council spokesperson said: “This closure is very much needed ahead of substantial culvert repair work next year. By keeping the track open during busy commuter times and reopening it fully at weekends, we are doing what we can to minimise disruption, as we know this track is very well used.
“We will of course keep the community updated and would like to thank cycle-path users for their understanding during this necessary closure.”
