Godshill Highway Improvement Project
We will shortly be starting work on a major highway upgrade project in the heart of Godshill.
The project involves the excavation and then reconstruction of large areas of the highway between Godshill Primary School and the council car park. This work will address the underlying ground issues that have caused the highway to deteriorate in the ten years since it was last resurfaced.
Dates
Work is planned to start on November 2 and pause on Friday December 12 for the Christmas period. Work will then resume on Monday January 4. Due to the likelihood of some extreme weather at this time of the year, the scheme has been permitted to last until January 29 but all attempts will be made to finish as soon as possible.
Because deeper-than-usual excavations are required, a full road closure will be required day and night during the working week. If it is safe and possible to do so, we will re-open the road over the weekend between Friday evening and Monday morning.
