A section of safety barrier on Medina Way that was damaged by a car fire earlier this year is to be replaced next week.
The work on the southbound section will be undertaken at night as it will require the closure of the southbound lane. Island Roads structures team will also be using the closure – between 7.00pm and 11pm on Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov 7 and 8) – to undertake an inspection of the Medina Way bridge (flyover).
A diversion will be in place via Dodnor, Riverway, St James Street and the High Street during work.
An Island Roads spokesperson said: “The barrier replacement is essential safety work but we hope that by undertaking the replacement overnight we will reduce the impact on road users.
“By bringing in our structures team to do their inspections under the same traffic management arrangements we will also avoid the need for a subsequent road closure.
“As always, we would like to thanks motorists in advance for their co-operation and understanding.”
