Residents and local businesses are being reminded that works to install permanent safety barriers at Marshcombe Shute are to begin next Tuesday 26th May.

From 9am on Tuesday, a road closure will be in place for a period of four weeks to allow the works to be undertaken and surfacing works will also be carried out during the road closure to limit any future disruption along this route.

The diversion route in place during this time will be via Yaverland Road, Avenue Road, Morton Common and Morton Road.

Island Roads would like to thank local residents for their continued patience whilst these works are underway and hope that the long-term benefits of improved safety along this stretch of road will be of reassurance to those using this popular section of the highway network.
