Sandbag collection points

In the light of weather reports for this weekend, sandbags are being made available as a precautionary measure in a number of locations.

These locations are:

Well Road, East Cowes

Simeon Street Rec, Ryde

St Mary’s car park, Cowes

River Road, Yarmouth

Moa place, Freshwater

Marsh Road, Gurnard

Lugley Street, Newport

The use of sandbags should be restricted to the protection of access points into residential properties and we would ask that the numbers used are kept to a minimum (a maximum of 6 each property) to ensure that stock is available for other local residents.

Thank you.
