Isle of Wight good causes are being given extra time to apply for vital grant funding to support their organisations.
The Isle of Wight Foundation is extending the deadline until Monday, June 15, to allow more groups to apply for grants of up to £16,000
Since 2014, the foundation – comprising the companies behind Island Roads – has awarded grants of between £3,000 and £16,000 to projects involved in helping build better communities or supporting people to access employment or housing. To date, it has granted almost £910,000 to Island good causes.
At the end of 2025, nine projects received a share of almost £90,000:
- Age UK IW
- Arreton Cricket Club
- Care in the Garden
- Cowes Sailability
- Havenstreet Community Asociation
- Isle of Wight Search & Rescue
- Phoenix Project
- Combined bid by Porchfield and Island Bakeries cricket clubs
- The Way Forward Programme
The money granted to those groups is already starting to make big differences, with Arreton Cricket Club playing and practising on their new state-of-the-art pitch and Care In the Garden being able to use their new minibus to transport its clients.

Applications for this year’s money can be submitted until 5pm on June 15th. Applications that meet the foundation’s criteria are encouraged from any group, whether applying for the first time or having previously done so.
The companies making up the foundation are Ringway Island Roads, Island Roads Services, Vinci Concessions and Meridiam. The money is a charitable donation from each organisation as part of their community initiatives and separate from the highways services delivered by Island Roads.
IW Foundation Chairman Eddie Fellows said:
“We have already received some quality applications for this year’s grant money but we wanted to make sure all Island groups have the chance to put in a bid before the deadline in June.
“The differences made by last year’s money show how important this grant scheme is. We have supported some fantastic organisations and projects over the years and look forward to continuing this work in 2026 and beyond.”
