One of the main routes around East Cowes is to be improved next month.
Island Roads will be resurfacing the full lengths of Victoria Grove and Adelaide Grove between the stretch’s junctions with York Avenue during September.
Information will be displayed on information boards on site prior to work commencing. The work will take place during the daytime and will be undertaken in sections to reduce inconvenience to road users. No work will be undertaken over the Bestival period given the increase in traffic in the area during this time.
Diversions in both cases will be via York Avenue.
Keith Gourlay, Island Roads construction manager said: “Adelaide Grove and Victoria Grove are not only heavily used by traffic they are also residential streets. Some disruption will therefore be unavoidable but we will work to keep this to a minimum and hope this short-term inconvenience will be offset by the significant improvements we will make to these roads.”
