Reporting a highway problem online

Spotted a pothole in your road, a loose manhole cover, overhanging hedge, broken streetlight or other highway fault?  We have an easy way to report it and keep track of how it is being resolved.

Island Roads have worked with My Society – a not-for-profit group pioneering the use of online technologies to empower UK citizens – to use their FixMyStreet web facility for the Isle of Wight area.

FixMyStreet.com launched in 2007 and covers the whole country.  It enables people to use the technology to check if an issue has already been reported, report new issues in their area, alert the relevant highway engineers, and then track its progress and resolution.

The system is simple to use, just click on the yellow ‘Report it Online’ button in the top right hand corner of our website and follow the instructions on screen.  Or you can visit https://fms.islandroads.com or go straight to that section by clicking on the link here

The site enables you to view recently reported problems, all reports or you can view reported issues in your area by entering your postcode or allowing the site to locate you automatically.  You can also go to the Report a Problem tab to report a new issue in your area.  The system enables you to add a description, photos and you can also request notifications on this or other issues raised in your area.

In an emergency

If the issue you have found is an emergency, for example, a fallen tree or significant highway surface water flooding that might cause a significant issue for road users then please call us on 01983 822440.
