Island Roads celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2025

Over the years, Island Roads has supported almost 50 apprentices, many of whom remain with the company today. Alfie and James are two of our newest apprentices, they share their stories about working at Island Roads in this short film to mark National Apprenticeship Week 2025.

Local school children name new gritters

We invited six local primary schools (one in each of our districts) to name our new fleet of gritters. We were delighted to visit each of the schools to show the children ‘their’ gritter and talk to them about how the vehicles are used to keep the Island’s roads safe during cold weather.

Leeson Road Landslip – the journey so far
