Application to request a temporary road closure

Island Roads is responsible for notifying members of the public of temporary traffic lights and possible traffic disruption as a result of road works that are underway or are programmed to take place on the Island.

How do I make an application for a temporary road closure?

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order must be made to allow road closures to take place. To complete an application for a road closure, or temporary traffic management on the highway, click on the forms below.

How much notice must I give to request a temporary road closure?

A minimum notice of 28 days is required from date of approval before the closure can start. We would ask that you submit your application to Island Roads a minimum of eight weeks in advance of the date required, this will allow time for the order to be advertised, checked and processed.
