Over the next few years we will be repairing and improving the 756 kms of footways across the Island to make walking safer and more enjoyable.
The new footway surfaces will be smoother, safer and longer lasting.
We’ll start by addressing the worst footways on the Island, so not all of the footways in your area will be completed at the same time. Footways in generally good condition may only get basic attention to bring them up to standard during the first few years.
If the kerb outside your home has already been dropped and was done formally through the council, we will replace the dropped kerb as before.
